The "x" component is equivalent to the date and features the following:
– a year element, which is a multiple of 12;
– a month element, ranging from 1 to 12;
– a day element represented by a fraction with the day number in the nominator and total number of days in a month in the denominator;
– all of the above (i.e. the date data) is multiplied by 5, as each 5 units represent 1 month;
– at the end, the parameter "a" is added to allow for each point of the graph (and therefore the entire graph) to be moved once the parameter changes.
The "y" component is a chosen value assigned to the date.
